Joseph Glenn

Happy Birthday to my little man. Joseph turned 2 on January 24! I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. It seems like just yesterday I was laying in the hospital scared to death of the clock striking 11:00. I knew I would be wheeled away to the OR to deliver my baby and I was not looking forward to a c-section. Eyes closed tightly I made it through the deliver...it started before I realized it and was shocked when Joe told me he was already cutting! I kept my eyes shut until I heard the tiny little cry of my firstborn son. He sounded perfect and I was so happy he was here. I couldn't see him while they were cleaning him up and checking him because he was behind me. I kept hearing him crying funny but they said it was normal for a c-section baby. They suctioned out his throat until he was clear and finally brought him over to me. It was love at first cry and love at first sight!

Here's my little man today

19 degrees

Seriously? This is GA. It's not allowed to get that cold. Just seeing that 19 degrees staring me down on my computer monitor's yahoo homepage makes me want to curl up in bed with an electric blanket and hibernate! I'm scared to go outside. Why oh why do I have to work?

Well, I'm working on a fun new set for Trinity. I'm going to have her model for me and offer up a custom set for someone. Thinking of listing on eBay, but I haven't decided yet. It wasn't coming together exactly as planned, but I improvised and I think it'll be okay. I didn't have enough fabric and I searched high and low and couldn't find it. If eBay didn't have it then surely I was out of luck. Because if eBay doesn't have it, they don't make it. Right? I posted on sewingmamas.com and someone has a bit of it and another thinks they saw it at JoAnns recently, so hopefully someone can come up with 3 yards of it for my custom slot I plan to offer. If not, my custom will be a set with different fabrics but made the same style. That'll work too.

Stalled long enough..going to get ready for work.

I *heart* technology!

Well, thanks to wireless internet, my computer is now docked on my sewing desk! No more trekking from the sewing desk to the bedroom to look for and download embroidery images and pattern details! Woohoo. I'm so FC (don't ask) excited!

Will have to post pics of my new station when I get everything re-organized. Had to clear out some stuff to make room for the computer.

Classy girls

Well, Ivette is going to be the owner of this new outfit for her little girl Samantha..big sister Mia will have a matching outfit. Dress/top is reversible and monogrammed with initials on the stripe side. Pants are crop length with coordinating ruffle.

I had purchased the paisley fabric to make the girls Easter dresses, and they hated it so I used it for these outfits.

(Excuse the horrible in front of the blind pictures...it's raining outside so I can't get a good shot)

Calling all models

I've been thinking for a couple months now that I wanted to have one of the adorable eBay model kids to model some of my outfits, but then last night I thought I'd offer up the idea to my January mommies since I love them so dearly. I posted a request last night and got 2 responses. I have one model lined up. Adorable Lucey Rose will be my first model. I'm thinking something classic for her. I want to do one classic girly and one contemporary euro inspired set. I emailed another mama of a boy to see if she was interested. Poor LJ has no interest in being my model! He has no interest in standing still long enough for my lens to focus. Oh well.

My Goofy Kid

It's 10:00, do you know where you kid is? Haha. Mine is laying on his floor with his arm stuck under the door like some halloween decoration! This goofy kid won't sleep in his bed. Because of the huge gaps under the doors, he has gotten used to getting out of bed to lay down at the doorway. He peeks under to watch us walk around in the living room. Then he gets sleepy and falls asleep there. I caught him with his arm hanging out the door and decided it was time to take a pic so I could show him when he got older. I have no idea how to make him stay in his bed.

The pillows are our pathetic attempt to close the gap. If he's in a bad mood and he sees someone walk by he'll start crying for us to come get him...so we cover up the bottom of the door when we lay him down for the night so when he gets up he won't see us. You see how well that works now?! He's figured out how to poke that arm through and move the pillows out of the way. Goofy buy smart.

Winter has arrived

Well, after celebrating christmas along with 80 degree weather, winter have finally arrived. Today it never even reached 40! Crazy cold for us GA folks. With the wind chill, it felt even colder. Poor LJ didn't have a hat to cover his little ears and he wimpered as I strapped him in the carseat heading to Nana's this morning. So, I pulled out the needles and yarn and started on his Hudson Hat. Got 1 earflap and tie done and the other one 1/2 done. This is the pattern I'm using. Aren't they absolutely adorable?! I want to make him one using either brown colors in stripes or red, navy and cream in stripes. I can't decide. Who knows..If I survive the pattern maybe I'll make both. They should still fit him next year so it wouldn't be a waste to make him 3 hats.

Ky Baby Knits is an awesome store! Lindsay dyes beautiful yarn and with the introduction of the Hudson Hat and now the Hudson Pants she's well on her way to making a breakthrough in the knitting world. Such fun and exciting knitting when you use this technique and a great way to use up spare yarn. Go Lindsay!

I've decided to have LJ's second birthday party be a cowboy theme. I plan on going all out with the invitations and decorations. I figured it would be fun to make the invitations be a WANTED poster or either a cowboy hat cutout. Thought the wanted poster would be cute but not sure how to put them together. Or maybe I'll put something to the effect of "Mosey on over to LJ's barn for a ho down" I have to find him a pair of cowboy boots and a cowboy hat to complete his birthday suit. I am going to make him his birthday bib for when he eats his cake out of a bandana or fabric that looks like a bandana. This is going to bed fun!

I like these invites...Wonder where I could find that stamp..hmm...

Make the envelopes out of some cute cowboyish paper and stamp the design on cardstock and mat it with the info on the back of the card. On a stamp hunt.

Over the sewing slump

Well, you would've thought with all the time I had off of work I would have gotten a lot of sewing done. Nope..I was so unmotivated. That's okay though...that left me time for other things and spending time with the kids. Of course today...the day before I go back to work...I get over my slump. I got the urge to sew something for valentine's day last night for the HC stocking on Jan. 8. I sewed ribbon loops on the bottom of a denim jumper and then embroidered this adorable design on it. Fell in love with it and felt like making more valentine items. Now, here it is 2:30am and I just partially finished a pillowcase dress (not sure I love it, but we'll see when I'm finished). I'm finally sleepy. I guess all the mornings sleeping in until 9:00 had me over-rested.

Well, off to bed so I can make it through the day tomorrow. Unfortunately it's 3 full days ahead. What a way to go back to work after 12 days off!
