You ate what??!?

I ran to the grocery store on my lunch break the other day and happened to run into my mother in law with LJ. I walked over to get some mid-day hugs and kisses and LJ spots the microwave dinner in my hand. "Eat Poop" he says? Huh? Eat what? "Eat Poop" Silly kid. It's the funniest thing and I can't help but ask him over and over again to repeat himself. He's saying "Eat Soup", but his Ss don't come out quite right. HEHEHE

And today the sewing bug hit me and I couldn't be stopped. I finally tried a cloth grocery bag pattern that has intimidated me for a long time. It was actually quite simple and I can't wait to make a few more. I think they'd make great gifts to for someone going green.

The bag looks identical to a plastic grocery sack. The pattern is an actual plastic bag. I decreased the size of this one to use for my lunch bag to carry to work with me. I've been using plastic bags, but this one is sure cuter and much better for the environment.

Speaking of better for the environment...I've ordered one of these! They are so neat looking. I'm totally on board for re-usable bags, but the ones I bought from Publix just aren't cutting it. They don't fold down small so they're not all that convenient and I only use them for traveling and toting dirty laundry to the washer.

Here's a little video that tells all about the bags.

Then I got started on the kids' christmas gifts. They've been told that this year Santa needs a little help so they know they're getting them. I finished 2 pair for LJ and got a pair each cut out for the girls (not sewn yet)

And the last thing I got (mostly) finished was Trinity's scrub top for halloween. I still have to sew the black scrub pants and then she's finished. I may try to find a pattern for a wrap hat like docs wear. Not sure if she'll want that or not.

Wedding down...Shower to go!

Well, I'm beat and if I wasn't starving I'd already be in the bed. It's 11:30pm and I just got home from the wedding. All 3 kids were in it and I was the photographer. Man..I give props to wedding photographers...It's hard work! I made it...and I'm praying everything turned out good. I'm too sleepy to weed through the nearly 400 pictures that I shot tonight. I'll have to go through them next week.

Marie's shower is tomorrow...Still have lots to do to finish up for that including buying the food! I don't think I've had such a busy weekend EVER in my life.

I'll post some shots of the wedding and the shower soon. I'm finished with my apple pie so I'm off to bed.

Birthday Party

Well, tomorrow is the day. I'm having the girls' birthday party tomorrow afternoon. They've each invited 8 girls. And I've invited a few others in addition to family. Hopefully it'll be a good turnout. Catch is...all kids invited were given to opportunity to turn this birthday party into a slumber party...so please pray for me that I make it through Saturday night. LOL

I met a man named Albert

I met a man named Albert. He is from Wales. He's been living in the United States since sometime in the late 70s. He and his wife came over and he went into the trucking business.

Why am I sharing about this trucker named Albert from Wales? I'll tell you why. Albert has the most awesome outlook on life that I've ever seen. He was told her had cancer. It was treated and he beat it, then came back somewhere else. It was treated and he beat it yet again. Last year Albert was told he had two years to live. When he first got sick, he trained his wife to drive the truck so the business would keep going.

Albert came into our dental office and as I called his name to seat him, I saw the biggest smile on his face. I don't think the smile ever went away. And to hear him talk about how blessed he was given his trials with cancer I was blown away. I was almost in tears as he sat there and talked about he and his wife. He said that he tried taking a trip with his wife as she ran a route but it took him 2 weeks to get over the long haul...and he was only riding. So, he'll never drive his truck again and can't even share the ride. He's going back on chemo to try to beat cancer again, but he says it'll never go away. To know that you are going to die yet still have the outlook on life like Albert has is completely amazing! I will never forget this man who has taught me so much in his 30 minute visit to the dentist.
