I HATE ANTS

I hate summer because I hate ants! I swear if summer doesn't hurry up and come to an end I'm going to go insane! Everytime I think I've beat them they turn up somewhere else. Their newest spot. The girls' bed! I mean all over the bed. My poor finger hurts from smooshing them. And I've sprayed around the windowsills where I think they're coming in at and they still come in. I give up. Wouldn't bother me too much if the damn things wouldn't bite! Pardon my french.

OMG...I'm itching all over just thinking about the stupid things. I so wanted to go to bed but now I have to stay up while I wash the load of clean laundry that was sitting on the bed that the ants decided to make their playground. I have to throw the comforter in the washer too to kill any others hanging around.

DIE ANTS DIE. Winter.....please hurry! I need you.

A few screws and a blood blister later...

One of my many crafts is making hair bows. I've got lots of ribbons and tools and the last few days I've been enjoying making bows. I go in spurt with all of my crafts. I found a great forum where bow making is discussed and got this idea for making a glass cutting mat. It's used when I cut my ribbon with a wood-burning tool which cuts and seals the ribbon in one step.

Also from that website, I was motivated to make a holder for my spools of ribbon. It's intended to have rods that go across, but I don't have any and the hardware store is closed today..so these long pegs will do for now. I'll pick up some rods soon.

And here's a quick pic of a bow I made the other day.

LJ's Boo-Boo

Here are the pics finally. We took the band-aid off Monday night. That was fun. He didn't want me to touch it, but finally realized I wasn't going to hurt him and he was fine. You can sort of see the blue lines under the steri-strip. That's the stitches.

And you can tell it's not stopping him. Look at his "I'm trouble" grin. hehe

(His head still looks a little yucky in the pic because I snapped it right after the band-aid came off and before we washed it off)

LJ's eventful morning

Well, what did you do this lovely Sunday morning? We started the morning out eating pop-tarts for breakfast and then we all sat down to watch Hairspray. Great movie. Then for some reason (I can't remember now) I got up and as I was walking back to the couch (behind LJ) he tripped and fell. He hit his forehead on the coffee table. I scooped him up and was going to take him to the kitchen to make an ice pack. I figured he'd have a big goose egg. When I got him scooped up though, I saw all the blood. I grabbed a towel and placed it on the cut. Then I took a chance to look at it. It was a huge gash. I jumped up and told all the girls to get dressed and I threw some clothes on. LJ was already finished crying (Only cried about 5 minutes) when we jumped in the car. We got to the hospital and luckily they saw us quickly.

The cut needed stitches inside and out. 3 stitches inside and then he whip stitched the outside. Then he applied some sort of glue and a steri-strip and a band-aid over that. He's done good not to mess with it. I felt so bad for him. I had to hold his legs down. One (female) nurse held his shoulders/arms and another (male) nurse held his head. Then the doc numbed him up and stitched it all up. He fought but we got through it. When we got home he was running around playing like nothing ever happened. Every move he made got me more nervous....he kept looking like he was going to fall or hit hit cut. He's napping right now. I'm hoping the cut doesn't hurt too badly when the numbness wears off.

Will update with a pic later...though it's all bandaged and you can't see it.

Well, that was my morning. Right now I'm watching Evan Almighty. This is one hilarious movie! Can't believe I waited until now to watch it.
