Be Afraid...Be Very Afraid

Or not. This little guy is too cute to be scary. I found a tutorial
here
on flickr. I saved the image of the traced template and opened it in Microsoft Word..then I enlarged it so it filled the page. I'd like to enlarge it even more to make a larger stuffie for a friend. I did the face a little different and right now the middle of the yes are pins. I want to add a french knot in pink I think but I'm not sure yet..and it's 1:30am so I'm going to bed now.

Bella Ballerina

Isn't she adorable?! She's on her way tomorrow to a special little girl with down syndrome who is spoiled rotten and turning two. She has everything a little girl could play with so this will be totally unique. I hope she loves it.

Sarah Jane

Finished another. This time completed her! I did the face embroidery before sewing and stuffing. I finally figured out how to do the eyes so I didn't end up with evil eyes trying to sew on flannel circles.

Here's Sarah Jane

I have more fabric picked out and I went to the store tonight to buy more twill for the bodies. I can see my shelf filling up quickly with these adorable dolls. I do like the pattern enlarged better I think. It makes it a bit easier to stuff it. I plan to alter it completely and sell mine I think.

Sophie and Annabelle

Meet my new girls. Don't pay attention to the fact that they don't have faces yet. I will get them done soon. I'm scared I'll mess them up. :) Sophie is from the
Wee Wonderfuls
Olive pattern and Annabelle is from the
Bit of Whimsy Prims
Mae pattern. They were both fairly easy. These are only my 2nd and 3rd dolls and I think they came out great. I have to get a bit more steady hand on the smallest curves but that's my only complaint. Now we'll see if I complain much more when I start the faces.

Like Father, Like Son

Aren't they cute? My two men asleep on the couch. They looked so peaceful so I decided to capture it on camera.

Photobucket

And here's a not so great picture of the new training pants I made for LJ today. This is my 4th try for these and I still have one more thing to adjust. I'll be out of FOE before I get it right. Geesh.

R&R

Well, I had a day of rest and relaxation today. The girls at their dad's and LJ at grandma's. I could do whatever I wanted to. I went to church and after church I came home and decided to work on a new project. I found a pattern I wanted to try and got to it. My usual fear of a new pattern comes after I read through it and it looks scary. This one I took one line at a time and it came out great the first time! I plan to make a few more of these..and try to alter the pattern for larger sizes. These will make great gifts for new moms!

Here's the sweater. Size newborn.

And modeled by Jamie.

I'm so excited that I tried this and I'm no longer scared to give patterns a go. Just have to remember to take it one line at a time.

Did you know?

We had an interesting service at church this morning. The preacher asked us if we knew what the shortest chapter in the Bible was. It's Psalms 117. And the longest chapter in the Bible is Psalms 119. The very center of the Bible is Psalms 118. And the very center verse of the Bible is Psalms 118 vs. 8. And so...there are 594 chapters before Psalms 118 and there are 594 chapters after Psalms 118. And the total number of chapters in the bible are 1188 (ch 118 vs 8). Isn't that amazing. I thought it was!

Well, today is my R&R day. I am not sure what I'll do. I should go rent movies and veg on the couch all day. I'm contemplating driving into town and shopping for a new pair of shoes, but I'm not sure I want to drive that far. My sister called to see if I wanted to hang out at the lake but after yesterday at the lake and my sunburned shoulders I'm going to stay away from the sun. Hmm. I'm going to eat lunch and see where the day leads from there. It's awfully quiet and comfy here at home.

My mind is running wild

I've waited so long for my best friend Marie to be pregnant and now that it's happening I have SOOOO many things planned to make for this bundle of joy. And not knowing if it's boy or girls just means I have to make twice as much. I have some just boy and just girl items planned so I'll make both and then I'll be ready. hehe

Working on one item right now with a million in line next.

Well, I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!! I start in August. And silly me...I was so excited that I forgot to ask what my start date would be. I told him I was available on Fridays in the meantime if he needed me. I figure that would help me slowly learn things before I really dive in. The office is very fast paced and it will take some getting used to. Definitely not what I'm used to. Crown preps take all of 1 hour instead of 4 at my current office. Wow. It'll be interesting...but I'm excited that I will finally have more time with my family and hopefully be a lot less stressed out!

Try this at home!

Okay are you sitting? Good. Now, raise your right leg slightly off the ground and movie it around in a circle. Like you're drawing a zero with your foot. Turn your circle clockwise. Make sure it's clockwise. Now, while you're turning your leg/foot in a circle clockwise, draw the number 6 in the air. Can you do it while you still have your foot going in a clockwise circle? Bet you didn't! Amazing what our brains can do huh?

Well, 4 hours and counting. I have butterflies in my stomach. I really need to calm down. I just keep thinking how incredibly awesome it will be to finally get a different job and one sooooo close to home and I don't want to screw up the chance. Alyssa and Trinity are excited because I told them we could look into signing up for basketball and cheerleading this fall if I'm working in town.

Well, I'm going to go knit some and try to calm my nerves. lol

Tomorrow is the big day!

1:00 I'm getting nervous now. I go for my working interview. I picture myself working fine the entire time and then afterwards dropping to my hands and knees begging for the job. LOL That's how badly I want this. I would have more time with my family because I wouldn't be driving almost an hour to work. And I feel I'd be a lot less stressed out.

On a different note, I finally pulled out my sewing machines last night. I used all 3. They had a bit of dust since I've ignored them for a month or longer. I made a cute fleece diaper cover (a soaker in the CD world). I cut out and embroidered one for LJ, but haven't sewn it. This will be something new I'm offering in my HC store. They're not exactly fun to make with the legholes and serger, but they're adorable when they're finished.

More yummy wool

Remember this?

Photobucket

Well, this is what it became! Isn't it gorgeous?! Will get a pic in natural light in the next couple days. It's dark outside now, so the kitchen pic will have to do.

And I just got in 1lb of undyed BFL wool yarn today and I can't wait until I get the perfect color combo ideas to dye it up!

"We're having a baby"

Catch your attention? Hehe. My best friend, Marie, called the other night to tell me that she and her hubby, Chip, are pregnant with their first baby. I was so excited that I called Joe to tell him the news. Well, we all know men only half listen to what their wives are saying so here's how it went.

I said: "Marie's having a baby"

He heard: "We're having a baby"

LOL. You should've heard the fear in his voice when he said "WHAT?!?" I repeated it and he sighed the loudest sigh of relief. He said "Marie and we sound a lot alike. I about had a heart attack" Too funny!

Well, weekend is over. Back to work for me. The boss is back from her 2 week trip to Italy so today is sure to be a crazy day. Not looking forward to it. I guess that explains my sitting here at 7:20 still in my pjs stalling. I go for my working interview this Friday afternoon. I am sooooo praying that this is my big break. I'm already looking forward to getting home right after I get off work instead of an hour after. And I can go home for my lunchbreaks because it's so close. I tried not to get my hopes up, but this opportunity would be so great for us....it's hard not to.

OK..no more stalling. I'm off to get ready.

What became of the "pepper" yarn

I took a suggestion from my friend Ali and tried light blue. Only it didn't turn out light blue. It came out much darker. Oh well...I'm a newbie. I ended up liking how it turned out. Just got it reskiened and here is the end result.

Sunday Morning Funny

Photobucket

No big plans for today. Going to church in a bit and then coming home to play with yarn and dye some more. I need to find something that shows how to mix different primary colors to make other colors. I'm getting a little bored with red, yellow, green, and blue. LOL I can't wait to see how the first skein turned out. It's hanging to try now.
