It just arrived!

My new sewing room that is! The poor guy that delivered it had one heck of a time getting it back where I wanted it, but he did it. You would've thought they'd send some help, but he had to move that thing alone. I'm so excited. I'd be more excited if I could go out right now and buy the insulation, electrical stuff and drywall and put it all up and move in! I'm so ready.

Here is the space just waiting for the building.

And here she is! Just waiting for my stuff to fill it up.

I put the table in there to try and see how many shelves I can put above my sewing desk. I'm glad I can get 2 shelves above it. It'll be great and I'll have enough space to store all of my notions and stuff above my machines. Then I'll have room on the end of my desk to put a large bookcase for storing my fabric on. And maybe a tv and dvd player. It'll be my retreat away from everything. The other side of the building will have all shelves for storing out of season clothes and a few things I just can't bear to part with. And I'm going to put a table and chairs in there for the kids to do arts and crafts while I'm working.

In a perfect world I'd put down flooring, but I don't know if I can afford to do that right now.

My Little Brother's Senior Prom

I can't believe my little brother is a senior in high school. I can remember sitting in the hospital room right after he was born holding him. I was in 5th grade and I'd just gotten glasses. Now he's graduating high school!

Here are some pictures of him and his beautiful girlfriend Katie.

My New Toy

Found her at Salvation Army about a month ago. Her price tag was a bit too steep for me so I passed on her. I went back yesterday and told myself if she was $30 or less I'd get it. I didn't really expect it to still be there. But there she was...sitting in the back corner still. The price tag was gone so I asked the lady there. I told her I'd seen it about a month ago and was waiting on the price to drop on it. She asked if I remembered the price...I told her it was either 50 or 60 and she said $29.99! Yipee. I plugged it in to make sure it worked (the tag had said it did) It took a while to figure out how to make it go (no foot pedal but a bar you push with your knee). It seems to work smoothly. I haven't threaded it up yet to sew anything but I will be doing that this afternoon. She'll be so pretty in my new sewing building that I just ordered today!

Finally sewed something for myself!

I was purging some craft stuff today and came across a magazine with this adorable knit dress in it. I thought it would be cute as a woven top so I went on the search for a tutorial or pattern that used woven fabrics instead of knits. Found one and got started right away. And now I have a new shirt! I can't wait to make more of these for my summer wardrobe! Best of all, it hides my tummy! hehe

I'm going to try the next one gathered in the front instead of the pleats.

Proud of my Husband

Joe went to an archery tournament yesterday in Social Circle. He'd been to another one earlier in the day and didn't do well at all. He was totally off of his game. So he went into the second tournament feeling a little low.

As he was packing up his things to head home his friend called him over to receive his 2nd place prize! Way to go hubby!
