Freezer Paper Stencil

Print or draw your image onto the non shiny side of freezer paper. For this image, I just cut a piece of freezer paper to 8.5 x 11 and printed the image on the paper. Then using an Xacto knife, cut out the pieces you want to be painted.

After you have finished cutting the image out, iron down the freezer paper onto your shirt.

Then, using fabric paint, paint the shirt. Be careful not to go outside the border of the freezer paper (learned this the hard way when I was on a roll hurrying through a shirt)

You may need to do more than one coat of paint. After the paint starts to dry, check for spots that you might have missed. I had to do two coats on this shirt. When the paint is completely dry, peel off the freezer paper. Follow the directions on the paint you're using for finishing the paint. The one I am using directs that you let the paint air dry for 24 hours and then heat set with an iron.
