Sewing for my niece

I was in the mood to sew some girly stuff today so that means Miss Caroline gets new stuff. I hope she likes them. I have another dress planned with embroidery but I need to make sure my pattern size fits her before I monogram her initials on it.

First is an a-line dress with matching bloomers. I made the bloomers with shirring around the legs to prevent that annoying too tight elastic mark issue that some bloomers have. They're nice and stretchy and not tight. Comfy! And I did buttonholes! Buttonholes scare me and I usually try my hardest to avoid them. But I really wanted this one to look classic so I dove in. I was slightly off on the placement but once they're buttoned you can hardly tell. (This pic doesn't show the buttons..I took it before they were put on)

Then I shortened the a-line dress pattern to make it more like a shirt. I wasn't sure how much to shorten it so Miss C will have to try it on and see if the length is good. I had a pair of small denim shorts in my box so I put them with the shirt for the pic. They should fit her too so I'm sending them along with the dresses. I love the bunny embroidery. I've had it in my files for years and never used it. Not sure why because it's ADORABLE.
