Craft show approaching

Well, it's Wednesday (strike that) Thursday and the wee hours of the morning. I just finished embroidery on a blanket for a girl at work and I'm going to sew it and go to bed. I worked on my new favorite item tonight. Wipe cases. I made LJ one to match his diaper bag and fell in love. These will be nice fillers for the table at the craft show. I'm hoping everyone loves them as much as I do.

And here's a boy outfit I made entirely. The shirt is my first completed tshirt. My serger sure comes in handy for sewing knits. Happy Mother's Day to me!! YAY

Will post more pics later. I'm going to get up my tables and all Friday and arrange things. I'm praying for no rain even though it's in the forecast. Please pray too!

Funny Stuff!

My brother came by today to show off his new bike. LJ liked sitting on it until Ricky started it up. He wasn't so keen on the idea after that.

While Ricky was here he showed me this youtube video of Jeff Dunham. He told me about it before and I figured it was on of those bits that were really stupid and only men laugh at..but I've been watching them all afternoon and I'm laughing my a$$ off! This man is a trip.

IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED OR HAVE KIDS AROUND DON'T WATCH THESE.

LJ's up so I'm off. Will be back later to post pics of LJ's new summer shorts.

Getting ready for the show

It's been a very productive weekend! I've accomplished a lot. Of course, the house was a bit neglected but that's okay. I have Master's week off so I'll devote some time to decluttering then.

I'm working on items for the Mayfest and I got some Cliparoos, hairbows and boo boo packs finished up this weekend. I also made my bow display and figured out my packaging for my burps. Professional looking huh? I'm proud. It's time consuming but I'm really looking forward to the exposure of the show. Gotta get my check in the mail tomorrow for the booth entry!

I'll have to come back to post pics. I'm too lazy right now.

Neglected

Yep, neglected. Time...where did it go? Work has been crazy busy (not always a bad thing as most days seem to fly on by) and life at home has been steady too.

I'm typing this from work on a Wednesday afternoon. Why you ask? Isn't the office closed? Yep, but my wallet declares that it's not getting it's fill and I must provide more. So, here I sit waiting for the phone to ring so I have something to do. It's actually kind of relaxing. I'm at work and working and getting paid, but it's not the hustle and bustle like it is with patients here. It'll at least make my wallet less angry at me. :)

We had a bad storm come through this past Saturday and of course Comcast (lacking as it always does) took a full 24 hours to restore service. It gave me the chance to sew LJ and Trinity's easter church clothes. Alyssa's is started and I will be completing it tonight. I'm so proud of myself for doing it. LJs and Trini's were finished within a couple hours. Alyssa's is a bit more detailed.

We found a church we really like. It's right up the road from our house. The girls and I went 2 Sundays ago and we actually walked because it was a nice morning. LJ and I went last Sunday because the girls were gone to their dad's. He was a mess. He yelled YAY and clapped after singing the first hymn and he was contantly saying BUG and pointing to the ladybugs. Everyone seemed to enjoy him being there. of course we got the many "He has beautiful blue eyes" Makes me proud since it's the ONLY thing I contributed to his DNA. hehe There are less than 20 people that attend the church and I instantly felt very welcomed. I'm so glad!

Well, I really should do SOME work while I'm here. Off to find something to do.

Practice makes perfect

I've been spending more time on my photography skills. I am especially proud of this shot!

I used my homemade lightbox and bounced my flash off the top of the box. I had to adjust the white balance a little and dodge the edges. Overall I'm very happy with this one. I'm tempted to have it printed in a large print.

Here's another of LJ. I tried to go for a vintage feel with this one.

I've been really wanting to take railroad shots with the girls and I got a few today.

And the only good ones I got of Trinity were in front of the old condemned post office building.

More shots

I'm determined to learn the language of photography. At the moment, however, it's proving to be a tad out of my reach. I hear the words, but they don't mean anything to me. I set up my homemade backdrop tonight (easy peasy dye job on muslin...$6 for a backdrop that is 6 x 3.75. Big enough for headshots and almost big enough for toddler body shots. It needs to be a bit longer so I can position the subject further away though.) Alyssa was my most willing model tonight, but I got a couple cute ones of T-bug too.

The scarf was a big hit. We ran in the $$ store to get foam core board for my lightbox and came out with a light pink and hot pink fuzzy scarf. Made for a cute pic paired with Alyssa's cap.

Here are a couple of Trinity. I didn't edit these any.

Turning two is no fun

I love this shot. Hate that I cut his head off though. He wasn't in the picture taking mood, but I was playing with some camera settings and he was my only victim.
